Human Resources Assistant

A great opportunity to gain valuable skills in Human Resources while providing administrative support and assistance in the day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.

General Accountabilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department
    Provide administrative support for the HR Manager
  • Prepare, maintain, and audit personnel and departmental files to ensure compliance
  • Support HR manager on payroll functions and preparation of reports including mileage and attendance
  • Assist in the on-boarding of new hires including union enrollment
  • Verify and complete I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Forms
  • Process unemployment claims
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • At least 1 year experience in Human Resources
  • Fluent in Spanish is highly preferred
  • Proficient in MS Work and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws
  • Experience using ADP Workforce
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
